Jay Sean

Kamaljit Singh Jhooti, better known as Jay Sean, has recently been on the radio a lot. Jay Sean is 26 years old and is from the United Kingdom. He is a singer, songwriter, rapper, beatboxer, record producer, and an arranger, and he also knows how to play the guitar and piano. Sean is signed with many labels, including the big label, Virgin. After signing with the American label Cash Money Records, he became the first British Asian to do so. Jay Sean’s song “Down,” which features Lil Wayne, it one of Sean’s most popular song and is constantly played on the radio. Aside from being on the radio, “Down” topped the Billboard Hot 100, which bumped the Black Eyed Peas out. In 2009, at the UK Asian Music Awards, Sean won the awards for “Best Male,” “Best Urban Act,” and “Best Album” for his album My Own Way. Jay Sean has come a long way to be known in a country other then his home one.
