The Runaways
The Runaways film, a 2010 American musical/biographical drama film, that tells a true story of the actual band named the Runaways. This movie tells the story of how the band, The Runaways, rose to fame. The Runaways band was a group of American teenage girls who were popular in the 1970s. The film is based on the lead singer of the Runaways, Cherie Currie’s, book “Neon Angel,” which told of her experiences as a rock start. Apart from telling her story, the movie and book tries to promote an anti-drug warning to teenagers and everyone else. Kristen Stuart and Dakota Fanning play two of the real band members, Joan Jett and Cherie Currie. The movie retells their experiences with rock and roll, drinking, drugs, and sex. I believe that this movie may help to serve as a warning to teenagers about the dangers of drinking and drugs by showing it in a modern film.

I have never heard of the band The Runaways or the movie. It sounds like an interesting movie, similar to other movies, but different at the same time. If it does she the negatives to drinking, drugs, and sex then I think every teenager should see it because many kids do not believe all the scary stories they hear about drugs and alcohol. I am very against drinking and drugs and many people do not understand why and I do not understand why people drink and do drugs, especially so often and so much. I look forward to see this movie and I hope others will watch it and learn a lesson from it as well.
ReplyDeleteLike Brittany, this is my first time hearing about this film. Nowadays, I agree that is it important for teenagers to be exposed to films like "The Runaways" because they should be informed about the danger of getting involved with drinking, drugs, and "unsafe" sex. I will definitely watch this movie because Dakota Fanning is acting in it. She is a very talented young actress! Also, I like the fact that it is an American Musical and true story. I can't wait to see it!
